New Year's Scrabble

Super Scrabble sounded like an amazing idea. More tiles? More space? Quadruple word and letter scores?! Let me tell you, it wasn't. I lost. Terribly. And the game was so long! I thought it was never going to end. However, it was quite amusing... and also a little bit dirty. Here's a picture of the scrabble board.

What would new years be without friends? Actually, I know the answer to that. Last year (2007) I spent New Years Eve all by myself. I watched Eragon on my computer. I started it at midnight. It was quite an adventure. I don't even like the movie! Still, it was my own fault for just assuming that there were plans in place. That's what I get for not being aggressive in my plan making strategy.

This New Years was amazing through. I had lots of friends, most of which didn't like the camera. This is a picture of Rhiannon sticking her tongue out at me. I thought about telling her not to stick it out if she wasn't prepared to use it... but most of her friends lick people in the face. I didn't feel like tempting fate. Besides which, she has a boyfriend, and he may have been jealous of my saliva covered face... ew!

I was very excited at my opportunity to meet Althea though. I've heard about her for years, and never met her. But Rhiannon is always saying that Althea did this, and that, and she is so neat, and she plays D&D and plays wonderful characters... on and on. I'm not complaining. I love hearing about her. It was even better meeting her. She lived up to everything I heard. Although, I didn't get to see her play Dungeons and Dragons. I wish I had. Scratch that, I haven't played that game for months. I just wish I could play it at all...

And of course, Rhiannon wouldn't be Rhiannon without her strange fascination with rubber ducks. I'm not sure what the fascination is myself... I don't quite get it, but I do get rainbows, and maybe that is why I love this picture. There is a redish one and an orangish one and a yellow one and a green one and a blue one and purple one! That's almost every color of the rainbow! She also has a pirate duck and a ninja duck, although those ducks were left in her room to fight with each other. It was a very silent fight, punctuated by short loud quacks of "Ar! I got ye now matey!" I never heard a response. Probably because ninjas can only be heard if you're about to die...

Anyways, I hope you all had a wonderful New Years as well.

Bye!

First a welcome, then a wedding

Welcome, fine people, to my blog of pictures. I'm starting this because I received a wonderful present from my father and step mother this Christmas. A brand new digital camera. It's green and thin and rather wonderful. Not to mention useful! Who would have guessed that I'd have a camera when my mother got married?! Not me... but that brings me to my next subject. A marriage.

First we have the bride, all pretty in white. She is my mother. She has flowers in her hand. And do you see her smile? I don't know if you can tell from this picture, but the smile was magnificent. After all, who else would it be with a groom like she has?

My mom's groom is in this picture. His name is Paul. He was quite handsome in his tuxedo, even if his bow tie wasn't hidden underneath his collar. I laughed when his daughter Katie tried to fix it for him and he wouldn't let her. In this picture his flower had fallen upside down too... but I had that problem all night! If I moved faster than a very slow walk my flower would flop right over like a dead fish... Oh well.

It was a nice wedding. It was held in the cultural hall of the Weston church of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was there with my sister and my daughter Lucy. Both of them were in beautiful dresses, and I was dressed in my brand new suit coat. Normally a two hundred dollar coat... bought at sixty nine dollars! I was wicked excited, even if a suit coat isn't normally what I would put in my daily wardrobe.

Now, not all weddings have princesses, but this one had two (seen above). One of them was my daughter, Lucy, and the other was Paul's granddaughter. Her name is Corina. Both of them had beautiful dresses on, and they got to throw flowers around! Actually, Lucy didn't much care for the flowers, but she loved carrying the basket around with her. She has fascinated by the white petals in the basket. She would pull one out, stare at it, and then put it back for another one.

And of course, every wedding needs its excitement. This is one of my favorite pictures, one of my mother's bride's maids. My wonderful sister Suzzie. This picture was taken on accident, but it was probably my favorite one of the whole night. It's completely spontaneous, and shows the entire spirit of the evening. Of course the bride is there as well, and even Corina the flower girl.

All in all it was a wonderful night. Lot's of fun, lot's of people, lot's of cleaning up afterwards. Still, it was nice to see my grandparents again, and nice to see my mom get married to someone she loves dearly. It was nice to see them run away together, sneaking out of the wedding before the cleanup period! Still, I got them back. Mom forgot to hand me the keys to the car before she left, so I got to make her come back and hand them back to me. Even brides can't completely get out of clean up duty!

This is just the first post of many, but probably the most exciting. How can I top a wedding?! I dont' know, but I will continue trying. Your welcome to come along with me and Live, Love, and Laugh.
